A local service business can be mentioned or linked in an AI-assisted answer. That does not mean it has a fixed "AI ranking." Responses can change with wording, location, time and the system used. Treat one screenshot as an observation, not proof of lasting visibility or revenue.
For Google's AI Overviews and AI Mode, Google says ordinary Search fundamentals still apply: the page must be indexable and eligible for a snippet, and there is no special AI schema required. Eligibility still does not guarantee that a page will be shown.
Give the systems something useful to find
Write a real service page for each important service and area combination you actually serve. Answer the questions a buyer asks before requesting a quote: what the job includes, service boundaries, typical scheduling process and how to contact you. Keep business details accurate across the website and Business Profile. Add evidence you can substantiate, such as genuine reviews, project photos with permission or a carefully documented case.
Do not create dozens of near-identical city pages for places you cannot serve. Do not add machine-readable files because a vendor claims they guarantee an AI citation. Google's newer guidance emphasizes useful, original information and warns against treating AI-search tactics as a substitute for SEO basics.
Test with a repeatable question set
Choose a handful of non-branded buyer questions, such as "Who offers move-out cleaning in [city]?" and "What should I ask a deep-cleaning provider before booking?" Record the exact question, date, location setting, system, whether the business appeared and which page or profile was cited. Recheck later. Do not seed the company name into a query and then report the result as unprompted discovery.
Separate three outcomes: a mention, a linked citation and a customer enquiry. Even a cited answer may produce no visit or job. Track enquiries through your normal source and booking workflow; ask customers where they found you when the digital trail is missing.
Our Makati discovery case documents one search test and one ChatGPT test, with their limits. It does not claim a repeatable first-place position or measured revenue from AI search. The Budapest case likewise separates observed business results from unproven SEO causation.
Begin with local SEO fundamentals, then use a small, documented AI-search check as an additional signal.
