Local SEO for a cleaning company starts with an accurate Google Business Profile and useful pages for the cleaning services it actually sells. A person searching for move-out cleaning needs to see where you work, what the job includes and how to get a quote. Visibility matters, but the result to track is a qualified enquiry that becomes a booked and completed job.
The short plan: check your profile and service area, improve one important service page, request honest reviews after completed jobs and connect each recorded enquiry to its outcome. Do not create a page for every nearby city just to repeat the same copy.
Make the Business Profile match the real operation
Check the business name, primary category, hours, phone, website and services against what customers can actually book. If cleaners travel to customers and do not serve them at the business address, Google's service-area guidance says to hide that address and specify the area served. A service-area business should not create extra profiles for unstaffed virtual offices. Google's representation guidelines explain the difference between a real location and a virtual one.
The right profile category depends on the work the company performs. Check the categories available in the live profile, then choose the one that best describes the core business. Adding a category just because a competitor uses it can misrepresent the service. Photos should show actual work with permission; our blog's illustrative images are not proof of a completed client job.
If you offer home cleaning, move-out cleaning and office cleaning, list only the services you genuinely provide. Keep hours and contact details current. A call that goes unanswered still needs an owner and a next action.
Build pages around distinct services, not swapped city names
Start with the cleaning service that has clear demand and operational capacity. A move-out page should answer what is included, what is excluded, whether supplies are provided, how access works, which areas are served and how estimates are made. A recurring-home-cleaning page has a different buyer question set and deserves different content.
Use a location page when it adds real value: local availability, relevant job examples, team coverage or service constraints. If the only change is the city name, improve the main service page instead. Google advises helpful, people-first content, not pages made mainly to capture search variations.
For each important page, check that the title and main heading identify the service plainly, the contact option works on mobile and the page links to relevant proof. A customer should not have to guess whether the company handles apartments, commercial premises or post-construction jobs.
Ask for reviews after real work
Use the completed-job status as a prompt to request an honest review, subject to the customer's messaging preferences. Do not offer a reward or ask only customers you expect to give five stars. Google's review policy restricts incentives and selective solicitation. Our review-request guide has a short message and a simple trigger.
Reply to reviews as a business, without disclosing private job details. Reviews can help a customer decide whether to contact you, but no review count guarantees a Maps position.
Measure the job journey, not only clicks
For each genuine enquiry, record the service, area, date, source evidence, owner, status and eventual job ID. Track booking and completion separately. Google Business Profile interaction counts cannot tell you whether the phone was answered or the work was delivered. The lead-to-job tracking guide shows the minimum fields and date rules.
Our founder runs CLB Cleaning, so we can point to an operational example rather than a hypothetical ranking promise. In the Budapest case, CLB had a dedicated move-out cleaning page and appeared in a dated local search check for that service. Its business records also show completed jobs and revenue, but the earlier periods did not track organic sources in a comparable way. That means the case does not prove SEO caused the revenue change. Budapest results are not a forecast for a U.S. or Canadian cleaning company.
What should you do in the first month?
- Verify the profile's services, area, hours and contact path against the real operation.
- Pick one important cleaning service and answer the buyer's practical questions on its page.
- Check that real enquiries have an owner, source evidence and next action.
- Request honest reviews after completed jobs, with consent and no incentive.
- Review booked and completed jobs by recorded source; keep unknown sources visible.
If the first problem is missed enquiries, follow the cleaning enquiry follow-up workflow. If the profile and site need a wider review, see our local SEO scope or request a Local Growth Diagnostic. There is no fixed article length, schema trick or AI-search file that guarantees a ranking; Google says the same core search practices apply to its AI features.
